To get things started, Brainscape’s original logo (bottom) was deemed too aggressive in all caps. The icon to the left is essential to the brand and had to remain core to the design. The adaptation to a bolder, more current font, in a softer graphite tone, helped better balance the logo’s composition.

Brainscape: Rebrand Mood Video

As a learning platform, Brainscape has built itself on a proprietary technology that focuses on a learner’s weaknesses, rather than their strengths. The results are profound and convincing. Previous branding efforts had focused too heavily on feature sets and product science. The goal of the rebranding effort was to shift the energy and language more into the hearts and minds of the motivated learners and dream achievers—those who know the road is not always smooth and that determination always outweighs the pitfalls in the end.

This was an internal-facing video leveraging unlicensed Adobe stock clips and George Harrison’s single, “I’ve got my mind set on you” — also unlicensed.
