2019 Guerneville Flood

When I was making the decision to move to the Russian River several years ago, the thought of a flood occurring was present (based on history), but the beauty and majesty of the landscape and forests eclipsed all worry—and those who live here and have survived floods are quick to concur. We were very fortunate to be on higher ground as the 2019 flood rolled in last week. Though rebuilding will be long and challenging, the community here along the Russian River will regrow stronger than ever—it’s just how people live here.
